Tornado and water damage occurred June 11, 2016,
On May 31st, 2016 in the Kingsville area, the National Weather Service in Corpus Christi confirmed that damage caused to the south side of Kingsville on Tuesday night was from a tornado. The EF-1 tornado touched down at approximately 7:30 p.m. Damage associated with the tornado was found at Dick Kleberg Park, across U.S. Highway 77 and down F.M. 1717. The damage path was approximately 2.5 miles long and snapped numerous trees and utility poles at their base. Bleachers at Dick Kleberg Park were thrown 300 yards, according to the NWS, and peak winds were estimated at 80-100 mph.
